~Dyeing some lace~

Oh my goodness...doesn't time fly when you are having fun...LOL!!

It really does get away on you though and here we are in the last month of winter.. spring is just around the corner and as you will see on my latest video, there is even new growth appearing on our grapevine.

"My shadow" and I enjoyed a beautiful winter's day the other day playing with dyeing some lace.  Don't know what it is but there is just something very comforting about doing this...I loved it.  Just seeing the beautiful lace (which in fact started out as a lace top purchased from the op-shop) blowing gently in the breeze and the lace trim and sari ribbons creating a beautiful "lace tree" aahhh yes, just romantic and beautiful!!

~ A Tattered Pouch for my Tablet ~

Hello, thanks for dropping into the Attic...

Here is a new little Attic creation...a tattered pouch to allow me to carry my tablet in my bag without it getting scratched or damaged. Of course what Grandmother doesn't love to show pictures of her grandchildren so my tablet can now safely be carried in my bag to share new photos with my friends of my four precious grand children and not only is it practical it is pretty too.

~ Some cards and special things ~

Hello and thanks for visiting the Attic.  Come on up and I'll  show you what I have been busy creating  recently...

I like to have some cards on hand for those special occasions and my supply was getting down so I needed to remedy that and
 I also wanted to get a special baby card ready for my soon to arrive little grand daughter.  Yes, I am about to become a Grandmother again for the fourth time. How exciting.

Here is a little video I put together to show you what I created. At the end, I show some still photographs of a couple of cards I had already mailed out at the time I made this video.

I also enjoyed creating these flower petals and don't they look so pretty and delicate in the bowl waiting to be used in future projects... Watch this spaace and I hope you will come back to see what I do with these :)

Hello and welcome to 'the Attic'

Well here I am back again.  After a break from blogging I have decided to start a new blog.

 'Grandmothers Attic' or simply 'The Attic' is where you will find me these days and as my description in the sidebars says...it is my place to come to create.

For many years my main focus in crafting was cross stitch but I found that after well over 20 years of stitching, my interest started to fade and other crafting has taken centre stage. I made some beautiful friendships whilst stitching which I still treasure.

I love the You Tube community and the friendships I have made with like minded people and in this day and age when computers are at our fingertips I am amazed by the fact that  distance seems no barrier in creating new friendships.

Anyway.. Welcome to the Attic.  I would love you to drop by and spend some time with me either here or on YouTube  (hopefully both). I'll make us some tea, we can have a chat about this and that and I will show you the latest 'finds' from the Attic....
